How would you like to visually express yourself in a different way? If so, you need to visit “befunky“. The “befunky” web site integrates art and technology by taking digital media (i.e your digital pictures) and artistically converting it to a work of art without the need of any technical knowledge. “Befunky” consists of two components; Cartoonizer and Uvatar.
The “Cartoonizer” component allows you to take digital images and videos, upload them to the “befunky” web site and convert those images into digital paintings, cartoons and comics. When you visit the site, you will see a tab at the top, labelled “Cartoonizer” that will get you started. Here is a picture of our 17 year old cat named Miss Bucket, that has been cartoonized.
The “Uvatar” component allows you to take the “avatar” identity concept that is used on blogs, forums and community social sites to a different level by taking your digital image (i.e. a digital photograph of yourself) and converting it to a more accurate digital representation of yourself. For those of you who do not know what an “Avatar” is in the technology world: An avatar is a computer user’s 2-dimensional icon representation of himself/herself or alter ego. My avatar on “What’s On My PC…” blog is the “Opossum” (see About Me). To use the “Uvatar” component, you will have to set up an account, which is free, on the “befunky” website.
