You must be "proactive" and not "reactive" when it comes to protecting your pc. Several good firewall programs are really good at preventing penetration. One I use and recommend is Black Ice. It is not free, but very effective. There are others. One way to really prevent any spyware or malware infection, is to use a bootable CD with a linux based OS like Freespire or MiniLinux etc. Then go online and do whatever you wish. When finished, simply remove the CD and reboot back to Windows. I totally agree. You must be “proactive” and not “reactive” when it comes to protecting your pc.
