A Software Technology Test – Can you get a passing score?

Did you know that you can increase your internet speed “up to 375%” AND “cure” all sorts of computer errors, which can make your machine seem slow? A company called Ascentive, is purporting this is possible if you buy their optimization software (at Finally Fast.com). They are currently “mass” advertising this claim via TV ads and the internet.

Test question #1: Would you buy this software?

Under the Finallyfast.com “Terms of Agreement – Software Use”, this clause is reflected:

On the website, it states that “Ascentive Software, the company behind Finally Fast.com, has been featured in Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes; however, when you click on the links to those magazine sites, the links are dead.

On the web site you can click on the “Free Scan” and download/install the scanning software.  The scanning software detects numerous problems and errors (including severe errors).

I do not think I need to go any further AND I would like to think that you scored 100 percent on this short test, by answering “NO” to all of the questions.  Primary purpose of this article is show readers, that it is important to research anything that is “to good to be true”!

      Bill,

I hear you brother! There are so many “freeware and open source” options out there. Software such as reflected in this article is not even necessary with all of the alternative available.

      Thanks for dropping by…

I recently purchased some Ascentive things. They didn’t ruin my computer, but they certainly didn’t help it. I JUST refunded my money about 2 minutes ago, before even reading this site. I’m glad I did.

      Treva,

You are smart in not using these advertised options… They are out to take your money! If you are looking for some good (and FREE) cleanup products try CCleaner and/or Glary Utilities

      Thank you for visiting…
