Running the command IPConfig is typically a windows based command used to display all current TCP/IP network configuration values (such as the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for all adapters). The IPConfig command also can be run with a host of parameters that will perform various network related functions such as refreshing the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings.
Recently I came across another third party form of IPConfig that is also called IPConfig that will centralize and display all your network information, local and remote, in one window.
The purpose here with the third party form of IPConfig is to give you a snapshot view of the following network related settings on your PC:
- Internal & external IP addresses
- MAC address
- DNS server IP address
- Subnet mask
- Gateway IP address
- Hostname
- Current network speed
- Network adapter name
- DNS suffix
- DNS enabled
- DNS dynamically configured
- Auto updating

Jack,
Thanks for this… I just checked the links in the article and they appear to be fine from here (for now).
