As we continue to tread down that road of cloud computing we find ourselves signing up for more and more and more… As a result, many of these online services that we establish accounts with, we either become bored with or not satisfied with the service; OR we sign up to experiment with the service and simply forget about them and never go back. The problem with this is, that every instance that you sign up for an account and use an online service to post information you are giving away a part of yourself. This is especially true with the social network services where we profile ourselves and give away our souls… This information you post is out there on a server (or servers) somewhere and can literally be there forever.
To make this even more interesting, there are many online sites that you sign up for where you may decide to delete the account and when you do terminate the service, your information may still be out there and actually never be deleted. The real topper is that when you make the decision to delete an account or terminate a service, locating where to do this at can be a real challenge. Let’s face it, these cloud based computing services may offer you the service account for FREE, but they are making money off of your presence and do not want to lose you as an account holder.
Ok, enough of my lecturing… I came across a really cool site that, if anything, is a real education about online accounts and profiling. The site is called AccountKiller.
AccountKiller - Do you care about your personal data? We provide instructions to remove your account or public profile on most popular websites, including Skype, Facebook, Windows Live, Hotmail / Live, Twitter, MSN / Messenger, Google and many more. Want to create an account somewhere? Check our Blacklist first to see if it’s even possible to remove your profile!
What AccountKiller specializes in is collecting direct links and deleting instructions to make account termination an easier process. They will also point out to you sites that they have blacklisted for not being on the up-and-up (not making it easy) about removing your online account profile and even your data (that you may have posted or stored).

Thank you for the referrals…

Yeah, I know. For what it’s worth.
But I can try.
