HI RICK, I AM 80 AND ON THE BLIND REGISTER AS SIGHT IMPAIRED (LIV IN THE UK). I HAVE AN OLD NOKIA PHONE WHICH I USE ON A PAY-AS-YOU GO CONTRACT.
I AM IMPRESSED BY MY SON’S I-PHONE 3/4? WHICH HE USES LIKE A COMPUTER.
CAN I PURCHASE AN OLD IPHONE/BLACKBERRY AND USE MY SIM CARD TO PERMIT THE SAME FACILITIES AS HE DOES?
AS YOU CAN IMAGINE I AM NOT COMPUTER LITERATE EITHER.

It depends on your service provider (for the pay as you go). For example, I have TMobile and if I take my SIMS card out of my phone and put it in an “unlocked” iphone, it will work (with very limited features). Also, if you are with a PAY AS YOU GO and your plan supports data usage (internet, etc…), then you will pay big time for the data usage. I hope this is not too confusing… Also, your cell provider would also have to support the phone due they work off of difference frequencies, etc…
