  1. Congratulations on anniversary! And thank you so very much by including my blog in each (or close to each) post! 🙂

I do not comment under squeaks every week, but I read them absolutely always.

    1. Rarst,

Thank you very much… It is an honor to include Rarst.net… You bring to us a very unique blogging style with a very unique perspective on things. You tell it like it is!

      1. I am constantly at loss why readers try to single out my blog as having unique (or whatever) style. As for me it is as generic of software blog as it can be.

Only without crap and fluff. Are we at point where it matters that much? 🙂

      2. Rarst,

You shouldn’t be at a loss… You have a very creative and straight to the point writing style. You are one of these people (and please take this as a compliment), you are more intelligent than you realize. I have worked around IT guys (and girls) for many years and there are those special people that just plain stand out amongst the crowd and I go “WOW”! Keep up the great work with your blog. It is a real service to the rest of us dummies : )

  2. Rick,
Thank you for doing the legwork and providing this marvelous compilation each and every week — for a year! (I’m with Bill.. where does the time go?)

Your efforts are a public service, of the free education kind.

I salute your anniversary with a tip of my geek hat, and my thanks, for your noble efforts.

    1. G,

You did a fantastic job on the review of AxCrypt. It is an excellent application.

Even if you don’t have a “tech article”, I will still post what you put out there to mix it up a little : )

  5. Dear Rickster, I do not have a burning desire for all things IT. I enjoy my computer very much and I spend an inordinate amount of time emailing and doing Crawler searches. I would like to understand this tool on a deeper level, i.e., doing creative things with my emails and especially Word. Rick, our experience with our laptop has not been a joyful one. We regularly have to reboot the system because it begins to fail. A technician came to our castle and spent two hours reconfiguring the settings. Goldilox and I had them all messed-up because we had no internet access. Frankly, I would like to be able to paddle my way out of Shit Creek when the need arises. In conclusion, if you have any suggestions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I trust this email finds you and yours in the best of health and spirits. The God of Jacob is good all of the time. Affectionately yours, – Big Poppa

    1. Paul,

Something that could be of interest… Check out Comodo Time Machine [ click here ]. Simply put, I use it and when my PC goes south, I revert back in time and voila’ I’m heading back north. Definitely research and read the manual to get a good understanding how it works and to make sure your PC is compatible.
