NEW – Create Virtual Desktop Workspaces with WindowsPager

If you have never experienced using virtual desktop software you do not know what you are missing. It makes the computing experience a whole other dimension that enables you to multi-task like never before.

If you are new to using virtual desktop software, let me try to explain how this works and try to keep your attention long enough that you will give this a try.

You know how when you start your Windows computer and you see the desktop (that shows your icons and wallpaper)? Well, through the use of virtual desktop software you can create more than one instance of the desktop with the ability to toggle between each desktop. It is like having more than one computer screen available to you at a time.

One of my favorite virtual desktop software applications is called Dexpot; however, today I want to show you a NEW virtual desktop software application called WindowsPager that is very, very easy to use and makes for a good start for someone that has never used virtual desktop software before. As a matter of fact, due to the simplicity of WindowsPager, I (myself) use it constantly.

It is very simple to install and use…  Simply download [ CLICK HERE ] and run WindowsPager. You will immediately see at the bottom of your screen (near the Windows Tray) four little window panels or blocks.  Each of those four panels (or blocks) represent a separate desktop (to work from). For example you could click on Desktop 1 and browse the internet, while on Desktop 2 you type a letter, while on Desktop 3 you monitor the weather, etc.  Where I find using WindowsPager advantageous to me is when I am working on a blog post. It enables me to easily toggle from desktop to desktop to perform the functions that I need.

WindowsPager

I’m telling you, this stuff is very cool. WindowsPager is considered a portable app and can be run from your flash drive, if need be. It is Windows 2000/XP/Vista and 7 compatible. I have personally found this application to be very stable.

FEATURES:

  • virtual desktops, workspaces for Windows Vista/7/XP/2000
  • arrange your running applications on different desktops to improve overview
  • integration into the panel
  • several patterns possible
  • 64 bit support
  • move windows between desktops by drag ‘n drop or by using the window menu
  • optional keyboard shortcuts for switching the desktop
  • set a window “sticky”: always visible
  • “Mini-Windows” give an overview from each desktop
  • support for “Flashing-Windows” (notify for new messages in Mirc for example)
  • keep a window above all others by selecting “Keep on top” from the window menu
  • drag `n drop between desktops
  • dual/multi monitor support
  • no administrator rights necessary
  • no installation
  • safe: automatic window restore even on crash by use of two separate processes.

  1. Pochp,

When running the WindowsPager file, you need to determine if your system is a 32 bit system or a 64 bit system. In the WindowsPager file you will see a folder labelled Windowspager (32bit) and a folder Windowspager64bit (64bit). Located in those folders is the file to launch the program.
