When on the hunt for FREE software, I am always up for software that is unique; something that is outside the norm. Today, I want to introduce you to a small software utility that is only 33KBs in size that I think you may find quite useful. It is called TinyTask…
What TinyTask does is simply this; it can record actions that you perform on the computer and then compiles those actions into a self executable file that will allow you to later playback (and automate) those actions. In other words you can turn the task that you record into your very own standalone program that will automate a task that you routinely (or repetitiously) perform. TinyTask can also be used as a training presentation tool to show students how to perform a specific action on the computer.
Our most popular freeware, TinyTask provides quick & easy automation by recording/playback. It is a case study in minimalist programming: the entire program is only 33k — and over 14k are graphics, which means the executable portion is very small and efficient. It is used as the test harness for the “Recording” feature of vTask Studio.
New: now includes an EXE compiler! Turn your recordings into standalone programs. If you were stranded on a deserted island, this is the one program you would want.
TinyTask is completely portable, requires no installation, and will not touch or alter any registry settings. As I mentioned, I am always up for something outside the norm and TinyTask meets that criteria. Great job to the developers on this little jewel that really shines.
