If you are looking for an economical (and ingenious) way to wirelessly bring the internet to your TV (including steaming videos) or to turn your TV into a Smart TV, then the MK808 Dual Cord Android (4.1) TV Box may be up your alley. In essence, this device is an Android device without the screen. You plug it into the HDMI port on your TV and use the TV as your screen. I am looking for an inexpensive device, like one of the Android Mini PC’s perhaps, to use as a Server to run some Java software I have written. I need to be able to load the Java code, compile it and load a data file via the USB port, and be able run the program and it should be able to write a results file. I could then extract the output file from the device via USB port.
The program does not use the keyboard, monitor or mouse functionality at all. All I need is a fast CPU with memory connected to a USB port.
Is this possible with one of these Android Mini PC?
I have a MK808 Dual Core Android 4.1 TV BOX Rockchip RK3066 Cortex-A9 Mini PC Smart TV Stick and am trying to figure out if I can do this. From reading articles on the Internet, it seems I need to “root” the device?
Any assistance you can be in this endeavor would be truly appreciated.
My immediate plans include getting two or three of these devices operational and verifying they fit my purpose and then starting to buy them by the dozen.

XBMC is a great program as a home theater program. I use the SkystreamX to run XBMC on my TV. It comes preloaded with all of the good add ons. I didn’t have to spend hours programming it. I just plugged it in, hooked it up to my internet and starting watching all of my favorite TV shows, Movies and live sports. It also turns your TV into a smart TV with over 800,000 Android Apps. I highly recommend this Android TV Box
