  1. SE says:

I recently obtained a Chromebook for my elderly parents. It was a refurbished Acer with a Intel celeron and a standard hard drive.

I thought the web browser was quick and pretty snappy and the screen resolution/quality is very good. The computer is very lightweight and the keys on the Acer were pretty good. I was surprised when I tried to watch an MLB live telecast and it worked at HD quality. Count me as impressed, as long as you don’t need any Windows apps.

I can only imagine how much faster it would be with an SSD drive. The only con is the terrible speakers. Makes me wonder how much overhead there is on a Windows computer that isn’t in the Chrome OS.
