Check Out The “50 Best Android Apps 2015″ at TechRadar

February 26, 2015

I can remember a time where there was question whether the Google Play store (for Android) would be a success or not; especially, at a time when Apple was already established and was the ruler of the “app” market. Since that time Google Play has exploded with their proliferation of apps, for the Android platform, that has far exceeded the expectations of everyone.

TechRadar - 50 Best Apps

To give you an example, take a look at the “50 Best Android Apps 2015” that TechRadar has posted that I can personally attest as being some of the best out there…  Enjoy!

I am big into the Android apps and not afraid to take them for a spin (on my smartphone or tablet). Android Authority recently drafted a nice review on “35 of the best free Android Apps“. Out of the 35 apps they had listed, I already had 23 of those apps installed on my devices and the other 12 that I do not have installed, I can tell you, are highly rated apps.

Understanding The Difference Between Refreshing, Resetting Or Restoring Your Windows 8.1 PC

April 27, 2014

[FEATURED GEEK SQUEAK] Understanding The Difference Between Refreshing, Resetting Or Restoring Your Windows 8.1 PC– If you are a Windows 8.1 PC user and you are finding that your computer may not be running up to par; you have several options to either refresh, reset or restore your PC. It is very important to understand the difference between the three.  No matter what option you choose, ALWAYS back up your personal files.

  1. Refreshing your PC reinstalls Windows and keeps your personal files and settings. It also keeps the apps that came with your PC and the apps you installed from the Windows Store.
  2. Resetting your PC reinstalls Windows but deletes your files, settings, and apps—except for the apps that came with your PC.
  3. Restoring your PC is a way to undo recent system changes you’ve made.

The RESTORE option is the least aggressive, with the RESET Option being the most aggressive. Just remember, if you do a RESET you will lose your personal files and data.

GEEK SQUEAKS – Run Bluestacks App Player On Your PC To Test Android Apps

February 12, 2014

Want to create an Android environment on your PC to run your favorite Android apps?  You can, with Bluestacks App Player.

 Bluestacks App Player

I have been using this to test the Android Apps I come across prior to installing on my Android Devices (tablets and smartphones) or recommending them here on the blog.

The Bluestacks App Player installs just like any other Windows software. Once installed you can connect the Google Play Store or the Amazon App Store, as you would with any other Android device. I have found it to run very smoothly. You have option to run the player in a window or full screen.

It is also available for the Mac OSX platform, as well.
