Malwarebytes Clean Uninstall Tool – Use This Tool To Perform A Clean Uninstall of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Many security software packages, due to their complexity, typically require a specialized uninstaller to cleanly remove the product from the computer. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is no exception. As a matter of fact, I ran into an issue where Malwarebytes was not updating properly and used this tool to remedy the problem by removing all traces of the software. I then re-installed Malwarebytes and was back in service.

Always, when uninstalling security software, check with the product’s website for uninstall instructions. The uninstaller built into Windows, just won’t cut it when it comes to these products.

To uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from your computer, please use the Malwarebytes Clean Uninstall Tool. This tool was created to completely remove all traces of the program from your computer.

To use the utility:

Download and run mb_clean.exe

Restart your computer when prompted.

Note: This tool will completely remove any settings you have configured, your license information, and anything else related to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. If you need to save any of these, please do not run this tool.

How To Use Windows 10’s “Microsoft Print To PDF”

A feature that I really like in Windows 10 is the “Microsoft Print to PDF”. Typically when you print a document, the document is sent to your default printer to be printed. In Windows 10 you have another optional printer to select from called “Microsoft Print to PDF” that allows you to print a document to a native PDF file. What this means is that the document you desire to print does not go to a physical printer; instead, the document is printed (converted) to a PDF file that you can save to your computer, email to another party, etc… An example of how I use this is, when I make an online purchase, instead of printing the invoice to my printer, I simply select “Microsoft Print to PDF” and print the invoice to a PDF file that I then save on my computer.  You can save a lot of paper by printing documents to “Microsoft Print to PDF”…

In Windows 10, the default PDF viewer is Microsoft Edge; however, you can install another PDF viewer such as Adobe, Foxit Reader, Nitro and my freeware favorite Sumatra

[ OFF TOPIC – IMPORTANT ] The Most Important Things They Don’t Want You to Know About the Health Care Bill – I follow the Congress very closely and what I am seeing is unprecedented. We the people need to stop looking at politics as some type of team sport of taking sides and take an interest in following what is going on. Our politicians are taking advantage of us in an effort to dumb us down so that we are a nation of the poor and of the very rich. For example, the House of Representatives just passed a health care bill that many of them (who voted for it) will outwardly tell you, is not a good bill. This bill will hurt the very base of the people that elected our President and it is being touted as some type of a trophy. Please contact your representatives and express your displeasure; seriously, your life and the future of your financial integrity could depend on this. The bill still has to go through the Senate where it is expected to be basically rewritten. A good read on this is at the popular website LifeHackers, where details on how this will impact you is outlined —  “lawmakers plastered on a few lipstick-like changes to the bill: things that they hope will make it look prettier and deflect some criticism, but that do nothing to change the fact that this is a terrible bill and they all know it”… READ MORE

Turn Your Android Phone (or laptop) Into An Endoscope – I just did a search for endoscopic cameras on Amazon and was surprised to see the results (and really how inexpensive these cameras are). What these cameras do, is allow you to see in and around small narrow spaces, using a long snake-like waterproof camera attached to  your Android phone (or laptop) as the viewer and power source.  Amazing stuff at little cost… READ MORE

Uninstall Programs In Bulk With BCUninstaller

BCUninstaller (Bulk Crap Uninstaller) is one of those portable apps that I can see being used on new PC’s that ship with a bunch of software crap and used on older PC’s where over a period of time the end user has installed numerous programs. This program is designed to uninstall software programs in bulk. It also had the ability to scan the registry and file structure to clean up the leftovers. Nice utility that is under active development and makes for a nice addition to the tech toolbox

BCUninstaller

  • Available in English and Polish language, more to come (contact me if you are willing to translate BCU to your language)
  • Uninstall any number of programs at once
  • Quiet (unattended) uninstall of many programs, even if they don’t explicitly support it
  • Intelligent ordering of uninstallers in large tasks
  • Detection and clean up of leftovers after uninstalling applications
  • Uninstall lists (automatically select uninstallers from the list, can be edited in a text editor)
  • Advanced grouping, sorting, filtering and searching
  • Editing tools and backup creation – can generate .reg files and remove junk to recycle bin
  • Visibility of protected and invalid entries (system uninstaller doesn’t see them)
  • Fully portable, requires Net 3.5 which is installed on all Windows 7 machines
  • Automatic error reporting and updating
  • And a bunch more features

A Free AppRemover Utility To Uninstall Antivirus and Security Software, Public File Sharing Applications, Toolbars and MORE

AppRemover is a must have utility to have around if you decide to swap out your antivirus or malware software on your computer.

It is important to know that security software installs, such as antivirus and malware software, are very complex in nature; and, if not uninstalled properly can wreak havoc to a PC. Typically, most developers of Security software will provide an uninstaller that you can download from their site; however, most people do not know or think about that. An easy option for removal of security type software is AppRemover.

AppRemover

AppRemover supports the removal of a boat load of applications – see here…  AppRemover is a standalone (portable) application that you simply download and run. You can download AppRemover – from here.

Want a powerful program uninstaller for your computer? If so, I encourage you to take a look at Geek Uninstaller.

Single EXE runs flawlessly on both 32 and 64-bit Windows 7/8/XP/Vista. When running on x64 Windows GeekUninstaller is running as a native 64-bit application. A summary of Today’s Geek Squeaks:

Squeak #2 – (VERY IMPORTANT – Internet Explorer Fix): Hackers have exploited a security flaw in Internet Explorer that has Microsoft issuing a downloadable fix. If you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser, it is important that you close the door on this security flaw (see below);

Squeak #3 – (How to delete yourself on the internet):  I know myself, I have created numerous accounts on the internet to the point that I am plastered out there everywhere. I often wondered if there was a way to delete myself (see below); AND,

Squeak #4 – (Mini USB 2.0 to SATA/eSATA Converter): This converter allows you to take an internal SATA/eSATA drive and externally connect it to the USB port on your PC (see below)…
